Chips for mileage?

What chip would give the best improvement for mileage in an 03? What difference does California Emissions make in mileage?

i have the early 99 with the XLE computer code and mods listed below..i have smaller injectors, a 15* hpop and stock 365 tires..on my trip to florida for christmas cruse on 72..DP tuner in 60 tow i got 23 MPG...on my way home cruse on 85 tunes in 80 econo and got 18 MPG..the DP tuner is a custom made chip..tell jody what you want and he will make it happen.good luck..

The tuners I've have never gained a single MPG for me!! As a matter of fact they have cut my fuel mileage!!

I have seen at least a 1- 1 1/2 mpg increase with use of a tuner and now my DP Tuner chip. Proper tuning and a "light right foot" will yield better mileage results with a tuner or chip. My truck, when stock, got 13.5 mpg and now gets 15-16 mpg average.

the key is you gotta leave your foot out of it. i know it is fun to feel the power. i have a hypertec and with it set on +100 hp i get about 4.5 extra mpg if i keep my foot out of it and aboout >2 extra if my foot is in it

I will have to agree with many of you. I do get better fuel milage when I keep my foot out of it. If I could just master the light foot mod it would be even better. Just to let you know with the DP Tuner flip chip, you will get better milage around town in the 60 tow tune and better milage cruising with the 80 eco. Good luck

I have the Hypertech PP III and have run it for about the last 160,000 miles on
Stage 3. It cut my Fuel mileage by about 2 MPG to 14.349 on average. Last Thursday I got a DP Tuner and the 2 tanks 847+/- miles on it, I averaged 14.716 MPG Slightly better then the PP III and about 1.5 MPG less then stock. I've been babying it; I think that's why the Fuel mileage has improved slightly!! If I have to change the way I drive to get better Fuel mileage, Why the hell would I need a programmer/Chip?!! The fun factor is the only reason!!

BTW: If the DP Tuners Fuel mileage doesn’t increase it’s going Back!!
