Need a vin code from u efi guys

I need alittle help from you EFI conversion guys. I recently bought a scanning tool for OBDI and II from AutoXray model EZ6000. I tried scanning my EBs EFI system but the scanner needs to configure to the vehicle. In my case my Early Bronco has an ECM from an 88 stang 5.0HO speed density. The scanner needs the "8" digit from the VIN which I no longer have from that car and hope one of you EFI stang guys have records to the "8" digit for me so I don't have to go to a pony site. I believe this code is the actual engine code from the VIN. Thanks

I believe the VIN code for the HO is "E".

8th digit is the engine size. On 302 EFI 1985-89 Bronco's and F Series trucks, it's an N. Dunno what Mustang uses.

Thanks, my system is from an HO. I've got a code 41 which I think is CTS. I've checked my resistance to temp value and it's within specs. My coolant temp sensor is mounted on a heater pipe on the pass. side. The pipe comes from the front of the intake then goes back to the heater valve. Could I have an air pocket?

It may be a possibility of an air pocket.
Have you checked your reference voltage and signal return at the sensor and at the ECM?

Is there any symptoms or just a check engine light?

No symptoms Jason, just the code showed up while I was messing with the scanner. I don't know why I didn't check for ref. voltage and sig. ret. when I had it disconnected to do my resistance test at the sensor but I'll do that. Thanks

If you run the scan test with the engine cold, it is common to throw a code 41. That may be what has happened.
