I have a 1986 f150 efi that i a want to convert, because I can't et it to run right, I havegut the cats installed new tps, air temp sensor, module, map sensor, plugs, cap and rotor. I stil have the same trouble when the engine warms up it will not run right. the way it back fires i believe it is getting to much gas, it will not idle no check engine light and will kill will the throttle is open. what could it be??
Could be a faulty fuel pressure regulator. You can pull the vacuum line off the regulator, and see if there is fuel in the vacuum line. Also make sure the vacuum line is in good shape and connected properly, or you will have too much fuel pressure. And you can also check the fuel pressure with gauge.
It also could be faulty/sticky fuel injectors. You can take them out, and take them to the dealer, and they have a machine that they can check them with, and clean them at the same time.
Also make sure a rodent hasn't chewed the injector wiring on top of the engine. The injectors are supplied 12 volts anytime the key is in run on the common colored wire going to each injector. The odd color wire going to each injector goes to the computer, and the computer grounds the odd color wire to make the injector fire. If one of these is bare and touching the engine block, the injector could be firing all the time.

well no bare wires and as far as i can tell the fuel pressure regulator is fine. before it messed up i check the plugs and they looked perfect though it did not idle smooth and had a hesitation at part throttle.
