Though, you can use software to adjust the parameters to get things "tuned" just right.
Comon guys we have been through this befor. Lets get the Info right. The only mas air 460 were in cali. and mass. 96-97 only! All other years and all other states were speed density.Look it up!

stngh8r's right about the Vortec, and Paxton's got one too. Last I checked, you'd have to part with about $3600 smackeroos. (Which is why I'm pursuing alternate methods first!...) CK

Unhappy

Okay, so maybe my next expenditure, before starting anything else, is a full set of factory shop manuals, so I know Exactly what I got and where I need to begin to ask the right questions... I'll be back when I'm a little more informed, or correct!

Okay Raider, do you want a Weiand Manifold style blower, or a Vortec "outboard" type Blower? Either website will lead you through the selection process. How much boost do you want?

I have never found a paxton for our trucks?

$3600 sounds like a pretty fair price to me for a kit that is all inclusive (fuel upgrades, ignition upgrades, etc..). This was the price I was seeing on the kit just a little while back, but I noticed on Vortech's updated website, the price has went up to $4k! I guess now is the time to buy one before the vendors go up too.

What is a velocity sensor? Never heard of that one.

question, ive got an 89 f350 at my shop with a vortech super charger on it. it barely idles, way too rich. does anybody make an adjustible map sensor for this setup. reason for this question is that all things electrical have been replaced including ecm. i am afraid that if you guys bolt on a super charger you will have the same problem if you try to retain the factory fuel inject. this thing runs like gangbusters on the big end but is unacceptable on the bottom. Please only people that have done this. all things have been changed, fuel pumps, fuel press. regulator, all sensors. i just want to hear from someone who has this that actually runs.

I have been active on this site for over a year now and I can hardly recall anyone who has talked about first hand experience with that Vortech kit. May try calling Vortech and see if they have a troubleshooting database or something? Did the problem start right after installation of the blower or was it something that came up later?

Coulda swore that the $3600 job I was lookin at was a Paxton, but it's been long enough, I could be wrong! (I've slept since then...) Memory's the second thing to go.

Probably the same's the Speed Density sensor, in my present un-informed state of mis-information. It's the 2-tube intake job with the 2 venturi's in front of the sensor. Isn't that supposed to speed up the flow in a dense kinda way? Makes sense to my backerds way of thinkin.
Man, I need that set of shop manuals...
