My truck woes have not ended yet (you can tell from quite a few recent posts from me). Last night one of my three little dogs chewed up the foam pieces the covers the four - I tend to say spokes - that connects the wheel to the center. I hope I am explaining this right.
The wheel functions perfectly but is just an eyesore to see all that chewed up foam. The wheel is leather covered.
I am wondering if those pieces can be replaced or if I will have to live with that unless I buy the whole steering wheel.
Tomorrow I am going up to the dealer to ask. But wanted you guys opinion.
this is a whole steering wheel cover that gets stitched on. i had one on my last jeep and it worked great. it is leather and they fit well. you may be able to get one and cut it to the size you would need and stitch it on...i dunno just an idea. colors matched well for the one i got too.
Well, like I said, the leather cover that is stiched around the wheel itself is not chewed. Just the foam like pieces that cover - so called spokes (can't think of a better word).
Maybe I will visit a local upholstery shop and see if they can fix me up with something. I don't think I need the entire wheel covered. Maybe fill the holes up somehow and then glue a leather peices on each four spokes.
