vsm : what is that? anyway i was fishing around under the fuse panel in the cab and found a cat 5 wire cut and the end was stuck inside what i thought was the brain guess not vsm? I think for a short time the previous owner had a programmer but not sure? is that where they plug in?

Its about 5 inches by 11 inches. It has what looks to be a coax type cord coming in one side with a big connector with lots of pins and two side set screws for that connector on the same side and then on the length side it has the cat 5e port. It says motorola on it but thats about it. I found it under my fuse panel cover, not behind the radio. Does this sound like it? Any thoughts on why it would be there if its normaly behind the radio?
SWEET now i know what the mic on my pillar is for, now i just need to figure out how to hook it up again. Thanks alot Alan, that mic has been bugging me from day one, its really small and i know its got a long cord somewhere in my headliner or my door post, it was done well so i havent pulled it all apart. Now i just have to find what parts its missing.
i know that "chips" are installed inside the pcm, where does a programmer hook up to? The 4 wires or so coming out of the big harness near the firewall?. I have 4 wires with shrink tube on the ends, a buddy told me thats where they hook to?
