I am getting ready to replace the door speaker in my '88 Bronco and am looking for some advice on what to put around them (if anything) for protection or sound improvement. I have heard pros and cons about the Dynamat and the speaker baffles. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I've used the small square sections of Dynamat that Crotchfield sells. I'm not an audio buff so I don't really care enough to do much with my stereo (thumping doesnt' get you up obstacles), but I have no complaints w/the Dynamat. It's pretty slick IMO.

You can pick up a liner like DynoMatt from BestBuy cheap. I recently added speakers to my doors and it made it sound much better. Actually, the reason I posted was to let you know to epoxy your stock grill covers while doing this. My Broncos were in perfect condition, I thought, till I got a new system and under cranking, they shook loose on both doors and started rattling bad. I took of the panels and epoxy'd them in and they've not rattled a bit since. Just though it would save you a hassle later.

Thanks for the info. I bought some Dynamat and was just trying to figure out what to do with those speaker panels. I will try the epoxy. Hopefully I will be able to get it all done this week.
