wipers question for '94
Hoping you fellas can help me out with this one. When I push the wiper control arm in (you know, to get the mist off the windshield, allowing the wipers to move 3 or so time), it makes this grating sound that comes from the glove box. I'm guessing the switch is in there, behind the glove box. What would be causing this sound? It's not a big deal - sound wise, but I don't want the wipers to crap out on me. Any one else have/had this problem?
Also, any suggestions on a new head unit with CD player? Looking for one that has a good tuner, decent sized buttons (not those damn mocroscopic ones like Alpine and many other have).
that is the wiper control module (wcm); remove glove box; disc batyy..check the connector to wcm...get one at a yard if the connector looks ok...i believe ford charges quite a few bucks for a new wcm .. about $70.00 and up
btw, wcm is to left of RABS box which is larger that the wcm
sometimes the printed ckt bd cracks; see if it can be repaired by soldering the components; there were recalls for the wcm's in dodges, ford crown vics/windstars, etc in 2000 and earlier years..
here is a suit against the Ford wcm mfgr for 93's and up:
