302 - 351 conversion

I have a 1986 F150 4X4 with a 5.0 and an AOD transmission. I was wondering if you could use the same transmission and transfer case from a 5.0 EFI to a carbeurated 351. Would I have to do many changes to the electrical system to do this conversion either. And about how much would a good rebuilt 351 cost I dont what a real high performance engine either because Im using it as a daily driver, but want a little more power than a 302.

Thanks

If you got a carb with the correct linkage lever, and the correct cable to hook to the carb from the tranny, then it should work(very important this is correct).

You are going to have to do something with the fuel tank(s) and the fuel system. It runs at 40psi now, and a carb can only handle about 5psi.

You will have to decide what ignition system you are going to use, and get a diagram for the efi truck and find the appropriate hot wires you need to power the new ignition.

The 351w will bolt in, as long as you use a 351w flexplate.
