T-Case Swap
I have a 1990 Bronco with an aod and the borg warner 1356 electric shift transfer case. The electric shift does not work and am thinking of swapping out the t-case for a manual shift. I have a new process 208 out of an 83 f-150 with a t-18. I was wondering what complications i might encounter. Any info would be appreciated

The NP208 and BW 1356 t-cases have the same bolt pattern for the tranny adapter, but the shift linkage is different and specific to each t-case/tranny combo. You'll likely have to modify the length of the 208's linkage, since it was made to fit the T-18 and not the AOD. You'll need to cut a hole or mount a cover plate in place of yor existing one in the 90 for the center-mount shifter, no biggies there. You will, however, need to fit your Bronco driveshafts to a pick-up t-case, and the yokes are not the same as a Bronco's. Either swap the t-case yokes for ones from a Bronco, or change the ends of your driveshafts to fit the truck yokes. You'll need to change from a flange-style yoke on the rear driveshaft in any case. Some truck t-cases have slip yokes, no good, look for a fixxed yoke style. The Np208 yokes are 32-spline, and the BW1356 yokes are 31, so they will not swap. Easiest thing to do is trade the 208 for a manual 1356, and hunt for the AOD-1356 shift linkage. That set-up is very uncommon and hard to find.
