Surging?

Okay I believe I'm suffering from surging. I'm hoping someone here can help me out. Recently I was going up a long grade with a 400lb load and my truck started to make the "whosh" noise. It sounds like its coming from the intake. the truck would make the noise and surge/shudder and I would lose power going up the grade. Anyone know what the problem may be? Thanks in advance for all your help.

05-25-26 Might be the TSB your looking for. Go to top of this page, look for tsb/recall, click on full text TSB, go to model and year . Hopefully this is what you have. If not look at a few others in TSB system.

Also look at the hoses and clamps on the air intake system after the turbo. One of these might be loose or has come off.

The usual suspects... CAC hoses leaking, EGR valve misbehaving, clogged (or clogging) CAT, air starved? Check the filter minder... Just my thoughts.

I'm sorry to laugh at your problem but when you called 400 lb a load I think the truck just got pixxxed at you for underestimating it.

I was wondering that too. I think it needs another "0" or two.

Just Had Mine In And They Changed 3 Injectors #2,6,8. Also Egr Valve Was Plugged. The Surging Has Since Gone Away But Now I Am Wondering About The Other 5 Injectors And When They Are Going To Fail. Hope It Happens Before My Warranty Is Up. Hope This Helps.
