Towing capacity
I am looking to purchase a car trailer. I am looking for a 8' x 20'. I have a 1977 f-250 4 wheel drive. Does anyone know the towing capacity of these truck?
The trailer has a curb weight of approx. 2500lbs and the car weighs approx. 2500lbs. The tandem axle trailer has a GVW of 7000lbs 3500 per axle.

Which engine, transmission, etc? Rear end gearing? Brakes? Makes a difference. How far will you be towing?
My '78 F250 CS with the 400/C6/3.54 is rated up to 7000 lbs. in the owners manual. Supercabs are 8000 lbs. Must be the longer wheelbase.
