Hi all i have a76 F150 that im geting ready to powder coat the frame and most other parts. However i will not be powder coating the axles and trans, now with that said i still want to do something with them just not sure of all of my options. i would like to use something better that just black spray paint ,something that will hold up a little better. any help or recommendations ? thanks

Polyurethane "liquid plastic" enamel seems to be pretty tough, if you can give it long enough to dry and cure. A catalyzed paint like Imron would be better. They're supposed to be dangerous to spray if you don't have a respirator with an external air supply, but I figure a brush should work just fine for things like a rear end and tranny.
I suspect that a can of resin like they use for fiberglassing would make a very tough paint if you add the right pigments to it. Clear resin over sandblasted cast-iron might look cool, maybe with just enough pigment to give it some tint.
