i've got two problems, 95 f150 300-6. first off, i have an aod tranny in it that when in overdrive is has a shuddering vibration, but when i drive it in DRIVE it runs fine. is this the tc chatter others have talked about?? if so, how can i go about fixing it. the second is, after sitting overnight i have to spray starting fluid into the intake to get it cranked up. before anyone asks, my truck was a stick and i converted to automatic and went with aod to avoid the electrical issues. thanks for any help.

I had the same shudder problem and thought it was the AOD. My truck started to develop a bad shudder on the highway while going up any hills especially when in over drive, whether empty or with a load in the bed. I'd also down shift into drive and it would go away. I stared to do all of the obvious transmission things.. checked the TV cable adjustment and pressures..etc.. and found nothing wrong. Then one day while sitting at a traffic light I noticed a slight skip in the engine and decided what the heck I might as well take a look at it? Plugs didn't look to bad, wires seemed to ohm out ok, cap and rotor (aluminum) were badly pitted. So, I decided to do a complete tune-up... autolite plugs, wires and bronze tipped (not aluminum) cap & rotor. Well the shudder was completely gone! I'd also consider changing the air filter & the fuel filter especially if you don't know when they were changed last..Just my $.02 I realize that you have a 6 but, hey it's worth checking.. Good Luck!!

i've replaced the cap, rotor, plugs and wires, also have new fuel filter and front tank pump is new. i do have some old gas that might be part of the problem, then shudder i hope will go away as i run the old gas out, but the starting fluid to first crank it up in the morning worries me.
