Airbag Indicator Light
The airbag indicator light blinks 3 times; 2 times; pauses, and then repeats. It does this most of the time, however, every so often it doesn't, e.g., doesn't blink at all for a day or two. As best that I can tell, that is a clock spring code.
I will have this checked. In the meantime, do I have a non-functioning airbag...not sure what the purpose of a clock spring is? Thanks.

If your air bag light is on or is flashing out a code, the air bag is disabled. Whenever a fault is present(hence the light) the system is disabled. If the code is for the clock spring, it will need to be replaced. The clock spring is in the steering column, accessable by removing the steering wheel. It is how the wiring for the air bag, cruise control switches(if equipped), and horn are connected. I had an '94 aerostar that had the same problem. I replaced the clock spring myself, but if you don't have some mechanical/electrical experience, I suggest you have the dealer change it. The clock spring will cost about $150 or so for just the part. Hope this helps answer your question.
