Does anyone have an exploded diagram or anything on a chicago pneumatic impact wrench. I took mine apart to clean it up and attempt to get it working again but now I am having trouble getting it back together. Its an old 1/2" impact. Thanks.
I wish I could help. I have taken a number of different brands apart (including Chicago) to clean and fix them but I don't have any drawings. Have you checked their website? http://www.cp.com/index_html.aspx
I have never purchased a new impact. I always buy the non-working garage sale tools for 50¢ and just clean them up and give them to friends.
To keep your pneumatic tools working check out my gallery for the lubricator setup I use which works extremely well (don't adjust the metering). Air tool oil works much better than other lubricants commonly used like motor oil or ATF.
Mister CMK, they are all pretty similar in construction. I can lead you to current breakdowns by going to:
cpairtool.com on the left side hover over "parts & service and select "spare parts/service sheet.bottom of next page "click here to link". See vehicle tools drop down list. Choose your tool catagory, 1/2" impact. Then click on part number in red (your model number if you see it) or any 1/2" model number for that matter. On right side of page see "Spare Parts List" and click on "View File"
I got 'er back together this afternoon. I was just a little brain dead last night and forgot that I had flipped it over taking it apart so I was putting it back together backwards.
I cleaned everything up as it seemed pretty nasty in there and re-oiled it with air compressor oil. I am anxious to try it out. Unfortunately, it'll be a little while as our air compressor blew a head gasket the other day. Thanks for the links guys!
