Dealer Diagnostics
I am goin to be taking my truck to NC in the fall for school im in WV would it be a good idea to take my truck to the dealership for a full computer diagnosis to check everything out befor i go? Does that check the transmission and injectors too? as well as the engine? What other things does it check?

I wouldn't ..... my $.02 Listen carefully to how she runs. All I do is check and change the required filters and fluids, and keep an eye on the forum so that I recognize issues early. The stealer ship is just gonna charge money to tell you what you can deduce yourself most of the time.

I agree with bkcowboss. Unless you are having problems, it is not money well spent. You can usually tell when something is not right, injector not firing, running ruff, transmission shifting hard or late, etc. So unless you have a problem, save the money for fuel.

Well my tranny is kinda doin something weird I can hear a pretty good thud when goin from D to R or R to D which is new and It kinda vibrates when thers a load against it before it shifts down and it feels like its in the tranny and id like to kno if theres something wrong. It also has this weird clunk when i let off the pedal and get back on it feels and sounds like it comes from the TC. I also get a od flashing light and CEL often and funky shifting.

One more thing, if the truck vibrates badly under a load, you might also check to see if you are getting axle wrap. Meaning, the rear axle is turning up twards the bed. That will also cause huge vibrations.

Yea thats why i asked. the vibration aint real bad but i notice it. and the u joints are good ill check rear end. and I will replace the VSS and see if this helps. the OD light flashes and the CEl usually comes on as soon as i turn the key then go off after bout 3 min or so. but the shifting is still funny untill i shut her down and restart.

I forgot that you mentioned the OD light flashing and the CEL. That might be caused by a bad CPS. I had a similar situation where the OD light flashed, the speedometer went nuts, the odometer went blank, and the engine stalled and restarted on several separate occassions.
I replaced the CPS and the VSS. She smoothed out after that.

The center bearing may be causing the vibration. It probably doesn't have anything to do with the CEL tho, IMO. Moose and Duck got ya covered on that one.

Well I changed both the U joints today along with the speed sensor and no more clunk which is great and drove it about 30 miles to pittsburgh and 30 miles back and got no CEL and feels like a new truck. I also got an ICP off ebay with i hope will fix the wondering idle. So right now im good to go. BTW our local ford dealership charges 100 dollars for a diag which they say is very thorough. Im good for now but if anything weird happens again then im taking it there.
