I know this sounds stupid but I finally got the old heap running pretty good and was out with the boys last night having some fun. Wouldn't you know it my old 302 was in the middle of a NICE tire thrashing when something let go. Well I think I know what it was but the question is why? I smelled anitfreeze and steam came up through the dash. As soon as that happened I thought heater core...After some preliminary checking this morning I have confirmed that thought and need to begin removal. Does anyone have any idea why this may have happened and if so can I remove the core without removing the interior of the truck? Oh yeah, it's a '94 F150. Any advice is appreciated! I want to fix the old thinig so I can torture it some more!!!
Global warming...blah blah , yadda yadda..who needs a heater core! U could start your burn outs right away..just pull the hoses off the core and splice them togethere with a coupling and 2 hose clamps.
The heater core is an eassssy job! Believe me, there are harder cores to remove than this one. The hardest part of removing the core is the damn foam and rubbery caulk sealant the factory put around it. The foam and caulk cause the core to stick inside the blower box. Try to remove the core without tearing the sealant up..u can re-use the foam for the new one.
