sound clip found
Ok for those of you who read my last posts about my truck not running right, I was on the DPS performance site n saw the sound clip of the low compression 6.9 well I clicked it n from what I could hear that is the same sound my truck makes at Idle. the clips caption says lowered compression 6.9, I don't know if they lowered the compression on purpose or what but thats the sound my truck makes so go to dps-performance . com and take a look at the gallery n tell me what you think could be the issue

That engine is running 18 to 1 compression and lots of boost.
The compression was dropped by milling the pistons .080 off the top.
I can't remember for sure but I think the HP numbers were over 350 and it is street driveable if you can get it started.
If your engine sounds like that, I would say you need to do a compression check and check the glow plugs again.
That is about how mine sounds at 5 degrees or lower when I try to start it without being plugged in.
