rusty oil pan
my 2000 f250 diesel the pan is way rusty, only has 80 k miles. the rust is coming off in layers. this isnt good. the only thing i can think of is scrape it and por 15 it.
does anyones else have this?

i have 99 same happened to me so i got some JB Weld any mixed it up a spread over the rust. i was told that i t was something wrong with the coating on the pan and short of dropping the the pan and replacing with a newer one . to use this it lasted on mine for 3 yrs before i had to recoat it . hope this helps.

its mainly one large spot near the drain bolt, about 4 inchs. flaking off a good amount. what a shame, i believe the only way to replace the pan is to pull the motor. I will just paint it with por 15 and coat it with JB
