Question Stacking Chips?

I own a 2000 F250, I had purchased (several years ago) a 60 hp superchip, I had to have it re-programed a couple of times, but overall I have been very pleased with the performace. This week I came across a deal on a Banks 6 gun programer for a 99-2000 yr model, big head waste gate acuator, EGT gauge, trans guage, transmision module, K&N air filter, 3 guage "A" pillar Pod and all the hardware for everything brand new in the box for $250. I almost broke my neck trying to get to this guys house before someone else did!!!!!!!!!. First I removed the superchip from my computer, then spent the last 1.5 day installing all this stuff! The programer claims 62 HP and I think around 185 Ft lbs of torque. Well, I am not impressed AT ALL, The superchip performed better! I like have the gauges and the INFO the programer provides! The directions state that I can stack other chips along with the banks programer, Has anyone ever stacked a superchip with the banks? Will it hurt anything? How about if I put the superchip back in and leave the Banks programer on Stock and just use it for info and superchip for power!

HELP and unhappy with the banks Stuff!
Thanks
Richard

Alot of guys here aren't too happy with Bank's tuning. If you were more happy with the superchips, then put the banks back to stock, and then use the superchips. However ALOT of guys on the internet diesel boards have found that DP Tuner does some really good programming. I have had 5 different tuning combinations and this is the best so far. www.dp-tuner.com, tell them FTE sent you.

And it's good you got an EGT gauge, that is really important with a chip. is it mounted in the exhaust pipe at the outlet of the turbocharger, or before?

Wink

I put the EGT sensor in the EX manifold close to the outlet. What would happen if I put the superchip back in and dont leave banks module on stock? Will I have any issues as long as I leave the banks on stock and put the superchip back in?

Thanks
Richard

I have a 2000 SD read my sig. I have the Super Chips programer 3 levels, Also the Banks 6 Gun. I run the banks on level 6 and the Super chips on High preformance together. Only when not towing. I drove it all the way to Lead Hill Ark. and back got 19 miles per gallon and it never missed a lick. EGT's stayed around 500-600

Thumbs up

thanks Don Tim,

I put the superchip back in and ran the truck on various settings on the six gun and the truck ran great, (like I was expecting just from the six gun). Again thanks, this is a great forum!
