Preferred front suspension?
My truck search continues. I'm looking at an '04 and '05 SD Crew. What are some opinions on the different front suspensions between the two (leaf vs coil)? Curious about ride difference and ability to upgrade/lift later. \Thanks

I own two SD's, both CC LWB 4X4 trucks. One has leaf springs, and the other is brand new (07) with coils. The coil sprung truck rides much better than the leaf sprung truck. Installing lift Kits were about the same amount of work. Love my old SD, but the new one with coils rides sooooo much better. Have noticed that the front axle on the coils sprung truck hops more in heavy sand than the leaf sprung truck.

I have found that I don't like th coil spring ride as well as my leaf spring. The 05 that i drove felt floaty and disconnected from the road (think 70's full size car). It was a softer ride, but it tended to wander and body roll was much more than my leaf spring truck. I was not impressed.
