Thanks for the info on the height of the new 08 F450 4x4. Wondering if anyone is currently using a 450 to pull a fifth w trailer. I'm purchasing a montego bay sporster and plan on towing with the new f450. I Just dont want to go down the road nose high, with all the weight on the back axle.
With a lesser truck I'd look into Enorma's suggestion of Ride Rites. I had them on my previous 99 F250 and they were a great addition, but seriously doubt you'll need them with the 450.
Looking at the Montego Bay Sportster, No floor plan they show goes over 3375 lbs pin weight or 14,675 lbs total weight, your good for 6000 lbs in the box!.......The F450 will tow it like you stole it!

I've got a 2-wheel drive 2008 Ford F-450. These trucks are so big, I don't know if they'd be a big difference in rear height. Mine measures 55" at the back. I just pulled a 22,000 5th wheel and had no problem. Turned sideways, my head fits between the bottom of the RV and the top rails of the truck. It is the identical space difference from my old Dodge Ram 3500. Hope that helps.
right on Strut ,agree even with a 350 DRW you wouldn't have a problem. noticed my 350 sat up about 4 inches taller unloaded. When hooked road real level. The 450 is what it was designed for those big fifth wheels with several slides. will also be stopping 81-80 Rv campground Mountain top 7-14. Love that quote"the F450 will tow it like you stole it!" Can't wait to tow.
