help with new headlights

I purchased a pair of halo headlights for my 97 xlt. It has two plugs per lamp one for high and one for low beams i am assuming. My question is what to do with the ten or so open wires coming from the five LED lights under the healight bulbs. Where do I plug these 10 into? and whats the best way to connect them? solder them?

thanks and i appologize for the difficult description. if you need more info I will be checking back regularly so I can get these nice lights into my truck. thanks

Pics of the setup would help a ton. Be careful with those LED lights. If they don't have resistors on them, 12V will smoke them in a flash.

I just put some of those lights on my '99 Expy XLT. Love the look. Here is the help you need, (hopefully). The wires for the L.E.D lights and for the halos will patch into your parking light wires. Now, you will need to find the hot wire for your parking lights, I used a volt meter and checked the ends of the harness to find which was hot while I had the parking lights on. Trust me, it isn't that hard. You can do it. The end result is very nice. I will keep looking back to see if you have any more questions. I probably didn't explain it too well.

i put a set on my 01 i took power from the right headlight park light and ran it to a relay as the control wire then a fused wire off my battery to the relay to power the leds and the halo lights. you can use solder and heatshrink to connect them, that would be the best way to do it.

morgan thanks

when you say fuse a wire from the batter did you mean get another cable from the hot battery terminal and run that to the relay or something else. Thank you for the advice but some people have told me i need to fuse it with resistors and a bunch of other electrical accesories. i may be able to pull off you description but I also dont want the bulbs to burn out quickly. do you think I should bring them to a shop and see if they would install them? thanks

do you think the LED's will burn out fast with the full parking lamp voltage going to them? or will they be fine. this is sounding easier and easier with the help i am getting. one more thing if i dont have a volometer on hand couldnt I look around on the internet to find which wire is hot? and i am assuming you attatched the led/halos on both sides of the vehicle(two seperate connections)?

you should not need resistors unless instructions for the lights call for them the reason i used a relay was to not overload the factory wires with all the new lights. as far as a fuse wire run a 10 amp fused wire from the battery hot post to the relay then run two wires one for each headlight from the relay to the lights this way when the park lights come on that will trigger the relay and turn on led's. a voltmeter or a test light will let you know which wire to use or fing a schematic with the wire color on the internet i have a 01 so my schematic may not be correct as far as wire color goes

Like "D" said above, you don't need any resistors. It's a straight wire. Use a test light and find your hot for your parklight and you will be good.

For what it is worth on a 98 the hot wire to the parking lights is brown according to the wiring diagram.
