Question Help please...Transmission Paint?

Hey,

I posted this a while ago in the Paint/Bodywork section, but no one responded.

While the engine and 4 speed transmission are out of my truck, I want to paint the transmission. It has a little surface rust, but is in great shape. Can I treat with a rust neutralizer like Rust Doctor or Rust Bullet? Can I then coat it with Rustoleum? Do I need to use special engine paint due to high temperatures?

Thanks,
Karl

JSYK, It should have been in the "Appearance" forum

Topic:
That would work fine.
I use Yellow Zinc-Chromate Paint for rust preventative then coat with good Extreme weather Paint.

Regular automotive paint will work fine. I do engines and transmissions with DP primer and regular automotive paint, holds up real well
