Battery or electrical problem "Relay Switch"??

The truck first started acting up feeling like it would jerk a lil while cruising like it loss power momentarily, and when left to idle it would do the same and kill engine.. The battery light eventually turned on,and the batteries lost power after they were charged the vehicle ran shortly and did the same thing again. This is my fathers truck i'm looking for solutions I was thinking alternator problem, My father wants to know if the relay switch would also cost these problems for the batteries, and if there is a way to check if the fuse for the switch is out. according to him its black and there is no visible way to check.
Any information would help thankyou.

There was a real similiar issue that was posted yesterday...dig back a little because there was plenty of help.

IF I remember correctly, it came down to a bad alt.

If this was a diesal I'd think that it was the CPS but a gasser I would guess it's the alt. these are only guesses so wait for an expert to jump in.
