Just purchased a new truck today, 96 F350 crew cab dually 7.3L PSD. Obviously haven't had much to be pleased about yet but I sure am It's a whole different world driving a truck that wont shift up hills in eastern ohio, we have some doozies. The power of this truck is incredible My first diesel, and as long as it keeps up like this it won't be my last. A new an extremely pleased (so far) owner.
i hear you man i am only 17 and have had me truck for a year now, crew cab short box powerstroke and i LOVE it. i dont think ill ever by a gas truck or a different diesel. I love our old body style to and just wait till you start adding on, it becomes a sickness.
16 over here had my truck for a couple months (but it used to be my dad's since he bought it in late '96 or something like that that, it's a '97), CC long box 5" stacks tymar intake, 3" downpipe goin on sometime spring break, everything else gonna be ordered than too! give it one little upgrade and you'll get the worst (or best? ) case of PMS ever! enjoy!
for field parties you really need a cap and an air matress. air mattress is like 30 bucks tops from wal mart and look in the local penny saver u can get a cap for like 50 bucks....i got mine for free, my buddy bout a psd from some dealer and the dealer hooked me up with a cap and receiver for free. good deal for me, he drops 28k i drop 5 bucks in fuel and get free stuff. TINT THE WINDOWS OR THE CAP. and make it so u can lock the cap from the inside. i want to hook speakers up in the bed that will come out with the cap. and dont let your friends know the possiblilities. they will try....
build a frame and set a with a peice of ply wood about the 5th wheel and the wheel well set the air matress on that. then u can easily remove and replace it.
Oh i got ya that makes sense. Here in OH there are very few regs on pickup diesels. my buddy had an old 6.2L diesel in a chevy he had straight piped with 2" pipe(cackle queen) anyway he'd get pulled over fairly frequently and could never get a ticket for the truck, because there is no emissions or muffler law on diesels.(not stories, was with him twice gettin pulled over)
Here in NM you get a permanent exemption for Diesel after the initial inspection. They dont even look under the vehicle to see if you have a cat or not! As long as it doesnt smoke you are good to go here. I dont have a cat at all, just straight pipe.
