got this transfer case thinking it was a divorced 205...til i got it...then i slowly realized that this this doesnt even look close to a 205...so what is it? is it junk? how can you twin stick THIS? could it possibly be a dana 20? i know i have never seen one under a truck before, but its definately a 2-speed.
it currently resides in a 76 highboy frame. other than that i know nothing about it. i was hoping you'd chime in, i know you had something other than a 205 like everyone else runs...so what can you tell me about these other t-cases you mentioned? i only have a little experience with the NP cases. thanks man....btw, check out my gallery i just got a new truck. starting point for my project. i think its a good one but i'd like some opinions on it. prolly be starting a thread about it in the near future when i have more pics of it.
there a fairly stout unit ,gear drive like a np 205.its a dana 24,and seems to me i remember being told one of the differences between the two is the 24 has 2 lo,but cant verify that
that supposed to be the stock spring pack...and my "new" truck is no different...if you think thats bad check out my old truck in my gallery...15 leaves up front!
Dana 24, has 2hi, 4 hi, 4lo. Supposed to be camparable strength to a 205. I rebuilt mine a while ago and I think the parts were around $180cad (bearings, seals, gaskets) I got them through a gear center

Wholy chit!!!!!!!, that is a huge leaf pack, looks like dump truck springs!!!!!
no, they are truck springs....just a lot of them...thats my SAFE alternative to blocks til i can afford my bags and/or get my welder hooked up. not a flexy suspension but it gets the job done.
i do have a buddy that has a 78 ford with dumptruck springs under it, its only got 3 springs and he sits 3" taller than me with my 15....but his rides REALLY rough.
