Hey guys (and gals). So, I'm finally going to start giving my 79 F150 4x4 4-speed on floor, some TLC. I bought it 4 years ago, couple shades of green and gray primer (my wife hates the look), good body except for some bad bondo job on rear wheel wells, nasty looking wheels, and a 302 that has oil blow-back issue.
Other than that, it's been a great truck and takes a lot of abuse. But it's time to return the favor, now that I finished restoring an old house.
Figured I'd start with taking the crappy bondo out and redoing the body work. Then I think I'll paint it myself. Never did that before, but it gives me an excuse to buy a nice compressor and paint gun. I'd also like to put a 351 in it instead of the 302. I've had some wheels for a year now and I was thinking about putting 33's on.
Hopefully, I'll have some pics (now and progress) to put up soon.
Looks like I'll get a lot of help and support here.
Thanks. I actually joined the site 4 yrs ago when I first bought the truck and had aspirations of restoring her, but constant runs to the dump and h/w stores while restoring the house put a damper on that. Now I think it's time though.
BTW, I named my truck Lynn, my wife's middle name. When she asked why I named my truck after her, I told her because I love my truck, but sometimes it's a pain in my a$$. That went over REAL well!
