I was wondering how hard it would be to convert the stock EFI on a 302 to a four barrell I am asking this because I took it down to the local mechanics because it was idleing at 1700 RPM and when he took a look at it he told me it needed a new ECM and he couldnt get one anywhere but he did get it running good enough to drive and got the idle down to around a thousand so I was wondering if it would be cheaper to get a new ECM or convert it to a 4bbl

My guess would be go to the junkyard and see if you could find one there, the convert to four barrel might not be a great idea depending on how much you want to spend plus if you have to get emmisions tested you have a whole nother headache with trying to get that to work.

Well this isnt just my idea thats also what the mechanic thought that I should do he said that I should convert it but just find a way to hook up an EGR to it and he said that it would pass.
