Welcome to the site,
Try using the search function at the top of the forum...you should find plenty of info. But basically...it boils down to an extended wheel base...and a bunch of other goodies...it would help if ya told us what year we're talking about as well. The Camper Specials would have also come with an oil and trans cooler for handling bigger loads and they also would most likely have the same plug for the slide in camper as the Super Camper Special under the bed on the dirvers side frame rail.
There is a difference between the two....mostly its boils down to badging but the production numbers differ between the two. Like I said though....try the search function...thats your best bet so we dont have to re visit things haha.

i was asking because my dad was trying to sell a 1978 f-150 super cab long bed frame and a guy told him he had a camper special becase ther was leaf springs on the front, but the bed didn't have any stoage door on the bed
sorry about not using the search i didn't think of it till after i posted
Leaf springs would only mean that he probably had 4wd...if it were a Camper Special then it would have a badge saying "Camper Special" most likely on the cowl on a 78. The only other thing to give it away would be the wheel base but if its Supercab its longer anyway. More likely than not its just an regular F series Supercab....but those are still pretty hard to come by.
