My 86' 250 has full climate controls for heat a/c etc. when moving selector to floor position to move heat etc, it does not work. The cab climate controls have been replaced from a recycler yard part but still no floor heat. Is this a vacumn motor problem or what? Also where is a new climate control assembly available for purchase? fomoco is pretty well out of new ones. thanks for any input recieved
First off, check all your vacuum lines on the motor for breaks or disconnections.
Second, check your vacuum tree on the passenger side firewall for good vacuum and the hose that goes in above the HVAC box on the passengers side.
Connect a vacuum gauge to the tree and let us know what it reads before we continue.
I have never seen the dashboard controller on these trucks go bad. I have only seen one vacuum motor on them go bad.
Usually poor vacuum to the system is the culprit.
