starting problem

I bought a 05, 6.0l with 160,000 km with starting problems. It runs great but when I'm cold starting it takes about 3-4 seconds. When its warm it starts right away. any idea's why it does this?

I just had a similar problem with my '03 6.0L, it was hard to start and drive at any outside temperature but once the engine temp reached 120 degrees or so it ran like a top. All it ended up being was in need of the latest flash from the dealership. Cost me $125 and it was the best money I ever spent. Just something to check out.

You might try the new flash, but I don't think 3-4 seconds is a long crank time, if that's what you mean. It will help with your injectors if they're being cranky and it's a good flash. It definitely won't hurt.

I agree....once you've started the truck once and go to do a re-start it should fire right up because everything is already warm.
