Unhappy Instructions to Replace D44 Wheel Studs?

So yesterday something interesting happened to me for the first time. frecked me out, didnt know what happened till i saw my tire going farther than my truck into a field. going out of town is a right hand 90 degree turn and so i started going right and then the truck dropped to the front left. didnt know what happened, till i heard the axle on the ground grinding. so i was kinda upset so i pulled off the side of the road and parked it, found what happened. found my tire that bounced across a barbwire fence breaking the top stran and then still went thirty feet into the field. the drum lip on the inside was grinded down but not to hurt the breaking surface. ended up finding four of the lug nuts on the road where the tire popped off??? still wondering where the fifth one is. so i got the tire back on after many different jacks used and only three lug nuts on i got it home. all the wheel studs are rounded or stripped at some place. so i need a diagram or instructions to replace the front axle studs. i know i have to take the hub out and use a special socket to get the lock nut out but what all do i have to do?????THANKS

2wd or 4wd? You're on the right path. Remove the drum, then the spindle nuts (4wd requires the 4 pronged socket) and remove the hub. A press is the correct way to remove/install the studs, but many people including myself, have had to pound the old ones out with a hammer, and pound the new ones in. You can also take a lug nut, start it on the threads, and use a socket to pull the new stud into position, this may stress the stud though. Either way, it's not too hard.

OK, sorry guys not as hard as i thought it was. just got it finished. this time the drums came off easy. lst time when i tried to do the front brakes they had to take off the front hub, ****ttttt, probly just said that to charge more. but whatever. so i pounded the old ones out with a 3lb sledge with the drum on and then the drum kinda popped off so now i put the new ones in and put seven washers on the thread side and then a nut and tightened them all the way through. so that worked and then got the drum back on with new lug nuts...went for a test drive came back and they were still lose tightened them good first time and tightened them again will go test drive again tonight and hopefully not tighten them again
