Firewall Question

Any of you GURU's know if the firewall layout on an '85 Ranger is the same on an '89? Moving all the electrical/engine from the '89 to the '85...

Wow, a welcome from Admin himself. I haven't been around here all that long, but the guys seem to really like the way that Ken(that's His name) runs the forums. It's a good bunch and you'll like it here.

You might be outta luck here my freind. I just checked Wikipedia and they show the first generation Rangers went from '83 - '88. Second generation from '89 - '92. Generally, sheet metal carries through a production generation unchanged, so unless Ford carried the firewall layout into gen 2, you might have some customizing to do. But don't get down about it!!!! It could be fun.

But seriously, you might be swapping a little more than just wiring harnesses and engine over. One of the other fellas that's dealt with it will be along sooner or later. Depends wether the kids found all the eggs yet

Welcome to FTE

Fred
