At least the manager at the parts store was willing to take the time to help you. I had a dude at our local parts place ask me if a 360 was a four-cylinder.???
I have attached a couple of pictures of my Modine purchased about 12 years ago. It has 5 rows and each tube is about 3/8” apart. I hope the pictures show the size of this thing. As you can see the tubes extend right up to the edges of the tank. The tank is 4 ½” thick and 26.5” wide. Each tube is narrower and they are spaced closer together than a stock radiator. There are approximately 60 tubes in each row. I have actually had people disbelieve me about the amount of rows, so I pull the radiator cap and tell them to count them. (Believe me, they have been counted several times)
I had a local radiator shop special order this radiator for me. He had to remove the mounts from my old radiator and put them on this one to make it fit my application.
He also made up a three row for my wife’s T-Bird. You can idle through town with this thing in 110-degree heat with the a/c on and the temp will never go over the thermostat setting. I just thought you would like seeing this thing. Gary
Just went thru the same problem as you mentioned. I had a "Gold Card" lifetime warranty on a Modine 4 row (2306) for my 79 w/460. I was told by the shop that sold me the radiator that Modine had merged with another company and the warranty and radiators were no longer. That was not quite true, they did merge and still do made radiators thru ReadyRad ( I think) and the warranty was still good thru Proliance. Contacted my local Proliance and ordered a new radiator as a 4 row. What came in was a 3 row under the same number. Tried to locate one as the Modine 2306 4 row with no luck thru out their whole system. I called Modine and was transfered to several people but the bottom line was that the 4 row was dropped as well as several others that were not in demand. SO, no replacement for the 4 row and NO warranty. We are all s### out of luck as far as Modine and their customer satisfaction policy for now and in the further. And that's my 2 cents.

BeCool makes a aluminum crossflow replacement for these trucks. The crossflow is supposed to be more efficient. I think I will go this way if I ever have to replace my Modine.
The radiator in the picture looks similar to the Maximum cooling radiator offered by Ford when the trucks were new. They also had the rounded top tank that extended above the core support. They were monsters. Don't know yet how the radiator I have will perform. I will be pulling a trailer and "hopefully" running the A/C if needed in May, so we'll see how it goes.
I didn't realize that I could see the whole darn bottom of the Rad from under the truck, so here is another pic. You can see the tubes spacing and number. 64 per row, 5 rows = 320 tubes. I think it takes a gallon of coolant just to fill the radiator.
The top picture was enough to convince me it was one of them "monsters". ;)
My father in law's 74 camper special with a 460 "and power everything" has one of those round topped monsters. :)
Mine is now like a stock one of those... but has the little "square shaped" cap.
The cooling system capacity was never what Ford's specs said it should be for a 360FE with the A/C package. (the only package I ordered!:)
Until i got the new 4 row radiator... then it was exactly right. :)
So Ford shorted me, by design change or whatever.
The original did it's job plenty good, so not complaining.
I only over heated the sucker once and it was entirely my fault.

It has been several years since I put this radiator in and my memory is a little fogged, but I think the radiator shop just ordered the core from Modine and soldered my tanks onto it. I do remember that they put my brackets on it so it would fit in my truck. The darn thing is heavy and the older I get the harder it is to lift out of there. I am thinking seriously of using a cherry picker the next time I do have to remove it.
This same shop also built a 3 row for my wife's T-Bird. It was so large that I had to grind a little off of the frame to get it in. That T-Bird, even on the hottest day, never gets over the thermostat setting.
