Oil Leak???
OK, noticed a small drip of dark black oil coming off of the tranny or flywheel inspection cover. Got some good advice last week to degrease and search the top side as it didnt look like a rear seal etc. I noticed some pooling of oil on the intake manifold sortof towards the middle or front. I used simple green and hot water with a brush and cleaned. I then sopped it up with towels till dry. No drip untill the next day and the oil had returned to the intake manifold. I want to take it in for repair but want a clue as to what it might be so I dont get degreased at the shop!! Also, anyone know of a good honest deisel mech in the San Diego area.

is this a 7.3? if so its probably the HPOP dist lines, they have a "o"-ring that is prone to failure. not a very difficult repair & repair kit is under $10.00 at Ford, only takes a couple of hours the first time with a 3/4" crow's foot & a flex-head ratchet! after the first time you will be able to do it on the side of the road in under 20 min.(its all abought learning the tricks) good luck!!
