This started today at a stop light...the truck hesitated for a fraction of a second and then slammed into low gear. This action was as if you would have "dumped" the clutch in a manual trans. Also when the engine is running and the truck stopped I can manually put the trans into either first or second gear and it immediatley kills the engine...again like releasing the clutch. I was told it could possibly be the shifting solenoid block...does anyone have any other additional information regarding this issue or had the same trouble.
The truck has the 4.9L I-6 engine and the tranny was overhauled a couple of years ago...not sure of the overhaul mileage. The truck has 260,000 mi now.
