Bolt Patterns

I was just looking at the specifications of the '08s and it says that the SRW bolt patterns are 8 on 6.7", the DRW are 8 on 7.87", and the F450s are 10 on 8.85". Why does Ford have to keep changing the bolt patterns? As far as I know GM and Dodge are still using 8 on 6.5" for their 3/4 and 1 Tons aren't they? I bet the after market loves it because they get to make special wheels just for Ford and then increase their prices. I wish they would go back to 8 on 6.5" and be done with it. Also, the F150 is using 6 on some metric bolt circle and then the 7 on something for the payload package. Why can't they just match the other guys? Yes I am venting. I am just getting tired of Ford changing bolt patterns, offsets, etc. every couple of years.

I believe '99.5 was the last time that Ford changed the bolt pattern on the Super Duties and it has not changed for '08. The only thing that changed during this time period was the backspacing in '05.

Bolt patterns are as follows...

SRW - 8X170mm (6.7")
F-350 DRW 8X200mm (7.87")
F-450 & F-550 10X225mm (8.85")

So have the DRWs had the 7.87" bolt pattern since '99? I thought they were the 6.7" (170mm) as on the SRWs.

Woops! Your right...

Pre-'05 was 8X170mm for DRW F-350 and 8X225mm for F-450 & F-550. But still there has been very little change over the years. Most of it was due to changes in axle and suspension components.
