I just got my XLT EL a couple weeks ago and noticed the same thing. I checked my window several times to make sure it was up all the way. It is very noticeable and somewhat annoying. It appears to be a design flaw of some sort. Hopefully, they will be able to figure out what it is and fix it.
My wind noise wasn't that bad to begin with, at least in my opinion, but it has gotten a little better since I put on the window visors on. Anyone have these and noticed a reduction in noise as well?
Well along with getting the brakes fixed, the dealer replaced the outer weatherstripping that runs at the top of the door. The foreman said the doors can not be adjusted, just bent in a little. I thought I read in the shop manual they can be adjusted via the hinges. It helped the wind noise some. I would say it's a 30% improvement. I still hear wind at 65mph+. The two 2000's Expys I had never had this problem.
The dealer replaced our drivers door mirror and that cut off the window being cracked open noise, this is good!
Depending on the outside wind speed and the direction of travel, we still get some slight wind noise, but this truck is big and it is going to block alot of wind as it moves down the highway.
Overall I am completly satisifyed now, no more open window noise coming from the drivers door!
I notice on east to west freeways it's much worse than north to south. When the wind it coming at you, it's the worst.
The other thing is the rubber around the windshield on the sides sticks out too far in my opinion. Most cars have the rubber surround as flat as possible.

berry1234,
What type of brake work did you have to have done?
My dealer has two mirrors and a driver side weatherstripping on order for my 07 Expy EL for the wind noise issue.
Just recently, I have noticed a bad brake squeal. It happens as I am stopping right before I come to a complete stop. I am going to have them look at it when I take it in.

Thanks.
Pulling to the left. Nightmare worth of parts replaced, engineers, etc. Turned out it was a bad HCU. Brakes are good now. Only issues I have are a slight vibration on the gas pedal/steering wheel while accelerating and the wind noise.

Was the wind noise from the mirror kind of a whistle sound? Higher pitched?
It is an open window sound, just like the window was cracked open allowing the wind noise through to the inside.
Gotcha. This is not the sound I am hearing. This is more of a lower tone sound that starts at about 60mph and gets worse as I go faster. I have seen reviews of the 08 Navs and Exp and this is a common problem.
