fuel pump + timing chain

I have a 78 302 i need to know if you can change from a 1 peice fuel eccentric to a 2 peice and if a double roller tming chain would fit on as well?

I do not believe there there is a separate eccentric for the fuel pump, but it is driven directly off the cam shaft. A double roller timing-set will fit just fine on a 302.

There are already two camshaft fuel pump drive eccentrics on your 302 engine, an inner and an outer. If you see only one, they could be stuck together.

Thanx for the info I plan on changing my timing chain soon so I want to know first before I buy.

I also need to know if a 9 index crank sprocket whould fit on my crank with just the one keyway

The '72 and older 302 used a 1 pc. eccentric. '73-2001(02?) and fuel injected 351 use 2 pc.
There are 2 different timing sets for the 302. Cloyes part #'s:
9-1135. '62-3/21/84 (221,255,260,289,302,302HO,351)
9-1138. 3/21/84-'02 (5.0 & 351)
The cam sprockets are different.
