Motor mount question
I am working on a 1996 F150 with a 4.9L (300 CID) six. It is at a shop I do some part-time work for. I got into this after both of his full-time "mechanics" quit. The problem I am running into is this: He is replacing the engine in this truck due to a parts store mix up. The new motor mounts the parts store sent, don't quite seem to match up. The right (passenger) side has the proper metric thread and fits fine, the left (driver) side comes in with a standard thread and will not drop all the way down. There are no spacers betweeen the block and mounts or mounts to frame. Has anyone run into this, and does someone have the proper PN for the mounts, particularlly the left side? Thanks.

I've had to bend a mount so it fit up right on my '88 4.9L, but that's because it was cheap. Perhaps the one orderd for the left side is for the wrong year, back from when OEM's used standard fastners ('86?). The P/N I have for the left side engine mount is 6038.

The number the dealer (Wynne Ford) gave me is F3UZ-6038-B which NAPA says is their number 6021364. The owner of the shop is buying cheap aftermarket stuff. The nearest I can figure on the fasteners is they changed in 1985 to metric. The fastener doesn't bother me as much as the inability to get the engine to sit in the frame properly. Thanks for the info.
