Today I turned on the defrost while driving and my compressor or the clutch wouldn't turn and the belt started smoking. Never had a problem ever with the AC on this 93 f150...what a bummer.

Is it most likely the compressor or the clutch and what are my options regarding using r134a for recharging?

Any good suggestions are welcomed.

 

your compressor seized, i just had the same problem...

 

time foe a new compressor make sure you change the oriface tube at same time and clean system with flush. should change the acumator\dryer also for warranty if not it voids warranty on new compressor.
