driveshaft vibration?

u joint broke on test drive and i think i did some damage to it. at higher speeds i get more vibration but at lower speeds no vibration at all. could the shaft be slightly bent or could it just be the angle is incorrect?

If the vibration wasn't there before the joint broke you have a couple things to look at.First off if your truck has a 2 piece shaft make sure the u-joints are in phase.This means that the caps of all 3 joints have to be on the same centerline. This is probably the most common source of a vibration after a u-joint replacement.Second thing if you have the u-joints in phase or have a 1 piece shaft it is possible that it's bent.Take the whole shaft to a driveshaft shop and explain what happened.They will put it in a lathe that will show if or what is bent.If you have the 2 joint shaft make sure to take both sections.I've seen several cases where both sections were damaged from a u-joint failure.As far as angle is concerned, do you have a lift kit or other mods that may have changed the angle? If not it's probably not an issue. Hope this helps.
