I have a 90 bronco and my problem is when you look at the tires
from front, the left (driver side) tire leans outward at the bottom?
I've had it checked twice for ball joints an ect. but they say that
every thing checks out perfect so im lost.. Any suggestions will help
I tire leaning in or out at the top is not an alignment problem, but a camber problem. Have a reputable shop check the camber and I bet they will tell you it needs adjustment.
Camber, caster, and toe are all alignment issues. The symptom described relates to camber, sounds like negative camber if I'm reading it right and is most likely caused by a sagging coil spring. It can most likely be adjusted depending upon how bad it is - but it would be best to have an alignment shop do it as it can be difficult for the shadetree to accurately measure camber...
yes it's camber, and that's part of what they check when they algn the front end. it needs to be done at a front end shop because they have to put these gages on it while the truck is in the air and set the gage, calibrate it.they then set the truck down to read it, and there's different ways to adjust it, and sometimes they bend the axles, or what ever it takes to get it to specs, yes indeed a front end shop, good luck.
look to see if the truck is leaning. The problem is a worn (compacted) coil spring if it does. The other thing could be bushings that are wasted. Also check the IFS brackets to make sure they aren't loose. Then if all these check out, have the Alignment done and if it is out they should tell you that you need an offset camber bushing to correct it. I am an Alignment Tech at a local shop and these are the things I look at. Along with the cost of the alignment there could be another charge for the installation of the camber bushing.
