My oil pump went bad today and now my engine sounds like a diesel. Any ideas what I can do with this '86 Bronco now? It has a rough body and now a bad motor? Anyone need a parts vehicle? Pics available.
My condolances....Okay, humor these suggestions (think about it)
1. How many miles are on the truck/motor? How long did it run with a suspected bad oil pump?
2. Is it worth a few bucks to try to repair? New oil pump and maybe bearings? What is the future use expected to be (local or long range driving). A knocking condition at times can sound worse than it is and if it was a short duration could be repaired.
3. Do you want to try to fix it at all?
OR Donate the truck to your local Vocational Technical School for a teaching tool.
I am sure someone will jump in with there .02 cents too. Just my suggestions.

Vermonter's often out numbered but, not out smarted.
It has about 123,000 miles on the vehicle. I assume that the motor is original otherwise this wouldn't have happened. I prablaby drove it about 60 miles w/o sufficient oil pressure. My fault I know but I had to get it home. I originally bought it last October for a toy and maybe fix up nice. Now it has become more than I can handle. If the body was decent I wouldn't hesitate to change the motor. but ya know...
On that particular bronco I am not sure but on my '78 it wasn't too bad. Changing the oil pump was the easy part, it took some fancy jacking to get the oilpan from between the engine and the font axle. In the end it wasn't too aweful bad, only a Saturday afternoon.
