i just put a 2" spacer on my 600 cfm edl 4bbl carb for my 400. i was talking to a buddy and he told me i should go with a K&N filter. i looked into them before. i know you can reuse then and clean them, but would it make a noticable different like the 2" spacer or would it be a waist of 40.00. does the K&N filter have a better air flow then a fram.
thank you
Some auto parts stores have a fan with a clear tube and a ping-pong ball. There are two filters - a K&N and a stock FRAM. You can swap the two out and see how high the ping-pong ball goes.
The K&N punishes the stock paper type element - it flows much more air.
Fuel flow must be adjusted accordingly or you will be lean.
i got like a 2 inch fram on it right now but i am going to go with a 3 k&n filter. i just put the 2" spacer and love the performance i have gotten from it, so now i want to feed it more air. i want to try and get a more performance out of this engine by feeding it air.
and good ideas under a houndred for improvments let me know. thanks
