I’ve noticed that whenever a semi’s parked for the night/day anywhere near a light pole they pull right up to it so it’s over the cab. Why is that? At first I thought it was just one guys preference, but I just saw 4 trucks on the way home all pulled up to light poles in various parking lots. I’d think you’d want to avoid light while you were trying to sleep, but maybe not.
Trucks get broken into, drivers do get beat up and hurt, they are only human.
I was talking to a driver recently that caught some thieves trying to get into his trailer, he went to the back of the trailer with a handgun and chased them off.
exactly we park near light lights to keep from geting woke up in the middle of the night by these strange creaters. also if you noticed we mostly leave on the parking lights to keep other trucks from backin into us.15 years drivin here, now my trucks are parked here at home every night
Speaking of trailers,,,
I pulled refers back in 1984. Went to Charlotte,N.C. , went to sleep and got woke up be the truck shaking. I caught 2 guys in the trailer, SLAMMED THE DOOR SHUT! Turned the unit down to -20* called the cops, they showed up told them where the the crooks were, They were ready to give up or freeze!

How long were the scum bags in there?
I come from a long line of Truck Drivers....I have the utmost respect for what you guys do. Keep on trucking!
another reason for parking under the light pole is light dissipation.if you park directly under the light, it shines away from the windows. if you park away from the pole, the light shines into the windows. try it sometime. you will notice that under the light pole, it is actually darker in the cab than if you park away from the pole.
10 minutes!
Ever see 2 freezing FUDGE POPS? The funny thing about it was,,, The cop asked how long they've been in there 8 minutes,I timed the response time I told him, He said, 2 more minutes! Ok! Was delivering to PYI/Monarch Foods.
