Broken Petcock
Well I went to change my coolant today, and when I went to turn the petcock it just snaped off flush with the radiator. Nothing is leaking out so would it be possiable to just leave the petcock the way it is and drain it from the lower radiator hose?

Well i solved the petcock problem, at not too much trouble. But it seems I cant get all of the coolant out, no matter how many times I flush the system its a brown color never very clear. I figure thats the best its gonna get. Now I go to fill up the degas bottle and I cant even get 3 gallons in it. Im gonna let it sit for a min and go check the level.

Kwik explained to me how he flushed his system out when he did the coolant changeover. Basically he removed the block plugs, drained everything out that he could, then put a running garden hose into the degas bottle. He started the truck and let it run for a few minutes (be sure you're heater is on to clear out the core) with the hose on and blcok drains out until it was all clear.
This is on my to-do list sometime this spring/summer, and I'll switch to the Rotella red coolant.
