Does the front heavy service suspension package on an f-350 allow larger tires, than the stock 265/75/r16? Most Super Dutys I see, especially 1 tons seem to ride and sit with the back higher than the front, but my 1 ton xl sits straight. I even have many people ask if I had a lift on it...
I don't know anything about the heavy service package, but my dad has an '06 f350, and he left it totally stock and put 35x12.50 18's on it. and it sits higher in the *** end. No rubbing or anything.
303soul, are the springs on the truck the stock ones? If they are what is the spring code on the door sticker? Also what engine do you have?
There is a difference between heavy service springs and snow plow package springs. The snow plow springs were X code 6000#, but this does not usually hold true to the heavy service springs. My truck has the heavy service springs and they are V code 5200#. I run 35X12.50R18 on factory wheels. Mine do just rub the leafs and fender liner at full turn, but other than that they are just fine. I would not do any heavy off-roading, but for a everyday driver with the occasional drive thru a farm field it is just fine.
Regardless of your front spring code, as long as you are not going to go much bigger than a 285 or even 295/75R16 you should not have any rubbing at all using factory rims.
had 10-ply 285/75/r16 BF Goodrich All-Terrains mounted on the 350 today. It looks like it should, the 265s somehow seemed too small for the truck. It's a bit sluggish though, now, regardless of the catback, high-flow filter and programmer. Maybe it needs a high octane tune, but I just can't afford to fill it up with top fuel. But my speedometer actually reads more accurately, with the 265s is was 2-3 mph off.
